Find the Menu
Once you've logged in, visit a gallery and look for the Tools button at the top:
The menu will have four sections: This Photo, Many Photos, This Gallery, My Account.
Keep only the best parts of the photo and crop out the rest. More info.
Click this and you'll get a new image in this gallery. It will be identical in every way to the image you copied, but will have a different SmugMug imageID. This tool is useful for keeping a color photo and making a black and white of the same photo using the Apply Color Effect tool.
Please note that videos cannot be copied.
It does just what it says it does. Use with caution!
Click this to be taken to a page where you can add a photo to replace the one you had. The newly added photo will keep the same SmugMug imageID so any links you have to the old photo will now link to the new photo instead. If you need to touch-up a photo, this allows you to neatly replace the old with the new.
Replace Video Preview Image will display here if you've selected a video. Use this tool to upload an image (jpg) that matches the dimensions of your video. We'll show that image, with a play button on top, in your gallery.
This neat integration lets you edit your photo to remove red eye, adjust contrast, add text, and plenty more. You'll have the option to replace the current photo or create a new, adjusted photo.
Note that PicMonkey does resize your photo to 2800 pixels or a max of 16 megapixels. Read how it works here.

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move thumbnails around.
This generates a page of thumbnails so you can quickly arrange photos. This can also be accomplished on any gallery page by checking the arrange mode box.
Specify which numerical position you'd like for each photo.
This is a zippy way of sorting photos within the gallery. Sort by Filename, Caption, or Date & Time uploaded, taken, or digitized. This is a one-time sort, so you can still move photos around afterwards. If you'd like dynamic sorting that constantly keeps photos in a particular order, choose auto sorting in the gallery settings.
Place virtual copies of your images in other galleries using this option. You can select thumbnails in bulk, then choose a destination gallery. The virtual copies will link back to the source and respect all the original gallery's security settings. More on collecting.
A Pro-only tool that allows Portfolio and Business users to protect their images with a watermark. More info.
You won't see this tool if you have a Power or Basic account.
This tool lets you cut to the chase and apply a color effect to more than one photo (no preview).
Click to select photos then choose to make their thumbnails Square or keep their Original shapes.
You can set the gallery's thumbnail type in your gallery settings, so that all new photos you add to it are of one shape.
SmugMungous = bigger display sizes. XLarge, X2Large, and X3Large so your admirers can see the photos big and beautiful.
These sizes are new, so older photos won't have them until you use the SmugMungous photo tool. Select the thumbs, and we'll SmugMungify 'em.
